Mentors:

Andy Marts
Electrical Engineer

I became interested in electronics and engineering in the 6th grade. I have a degree in electrical engineering and have worked for Baxter Healthcare for 24 years. I mentor FIRST teams to show students math, science, and yes, even English are used in all facets of technological careers. Hopefully I can affect a students outlook on school and provide the vision of a pathway to be successful in a technological career.

John Novak

Electrical Engineer
My name is John Novak. I fell in love with electronics when I was about 8 years old. I took everything apart that I could to see how it worked. By the 8th grade I was able to take High School Electronics and have been involved with hobby electronics ever since. I now am an Electrical Engineer and never get tired of looking for and playing with technology. First Tech Challenge and Lego League are great programs to give kids a chance to find out if they are interested in engineering. I am committed to these programs as well as High School FRC to promote a growing force of engineers and technicians  that will create the next great advances in technology.

I am actually a executive officer with a large, regional bank. However , I became involved with the First program when my son , Matthew, began participating in Lego League. He has became a leader on every team he has participated . My son is very interested in an engineering career in the defense industry. I have personally witnessed the positive impact that Lego League up to the high school FRC program have had numerous kids. We have sent several participants on to college as mechanical engineering majors. I am very active in the lives of my children, and it is both an honor and a pleasure to serve as a mentor for this year's Junior Bomb Squad Team.
